Larkin Landscape and Design is based in the Des Moines metro and serves homeowners and businesses across Central Iowa. There is no showroom to drive to. We come to your address, walk the space, and put a number in writing, and that estimate is free everywhere we work.
One local crew handles the whole yard wherever you are, from the hardscaping that gives it structure to the landscaping that brings it to life, plus snow and ice control that keeps it usable in January. The plan, the materials, and the crew all come to you.
The eight communities we work in most

- Ankeny, IA Ankeny is a full outdoor-living town. Homeowners here plan patios, retaining walls, and built-in features together, and it is the one part of the metro where we are regularly asked for water features like ponds and pondless fountains.
- Johnston, IA More Johnston homeowners look for a patio builder than for anything else we do, so patios lead here, with landscape lighting and retaining walls close behind. Screened porches and decks are carpentry we do not offer, but we build the hardscape around them.
- Waukee, IA Waukee runs patio-first, much like Johnston, with steady demand for new landscape installation as newer yards get established. We handle the base, the pavers, and the plantings that finish the space.

Every job starts the same way no matter which town you are in: a walk around your yard and a free, written estimate. We look at grades, drainage, access, and what the Iowa freeze-thaw cycle will do to the work, then give you a number in writing before anything is scheduled.
